Refund & Cancellation Policy
Plans change on site. This is how we handle cancellations, early returns and refunds for hires from SRB Group of Companies Pty Ltd T/AS PSG Plant Hire. This policy sits alongside our Hire Terms & Conditions and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Cancelling a booking
- More than 24 hours before pickup or delivery: full refund of any deposit or prepayment, no questions asked.
- Within 24 hours: we may retain up to one day's hire on the affected items to cover holding the gear, at our discretion. Repeat customers with accounts are generally not charged.
- After the equipment has left the yard: delivery and one day's hire are payable; the balance of any prepayment is refunded.
Early returns
Return gear early and we credit or refund whole unused days, recalculated at the rate band that now applies (for example, a hire planned as a week but returned after three days is recharged at three day-rates). Half-used days are not refunded.
Weather and site shutdowns
If rain or a site shutdown stops work, call us the same morning. Where the machine hasn't been used that day we will usually extend the hire or credit the day. We're a WA operator; we know what a Perth winter front does to an earthworks program.
Breakdowns
If a machine fails through no fault of yours, we repair or replace it promptly or credit the hire for the downtime, per clause 6 of the hire terms. Downtime credits are calculated in whole days.
Bonds
Bonds and pre-authorisations are released within 5 business days of the equipment being returned, inspected and refuelled, less any amounts owing (damage, fuel, cleaning or excess hours, each itemised in writing).
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 business days of approval. Card processing fees charged by our payment provider are refunded where the provider returns them to us.
