Excavator dry hire in Perth costs about $200–$360 per day depending on size: 1.7t from $209/day, 3.5t from $286/day, 5t from $313.50/day and 8t from $357.50/day at PSG (GST and standard buckets included). Weekly rates run roughly four times the day rate.
Published prices, not "call for a quote"

What's in the rate, and what's not
Included at PSG: GST, plus GP, trench and batter buckets on every machine to 8.5t. That bucket set costs extra at many yards, check before comparing quotes.
On top: fuel you use; delivery (quoted by suburb from Rockingham. Or tow the 1.7t yourself on a $55/day trailer); attachments like augers, breakers and tilt buckets ($71.50–$302.50/day); and optional damage waiver.
How to pay less for the same dig
Book the week if the job runs past four days, the maths is above. Bundle machine, trailer and attachments in one booking. And size up if access allows: a 3.5t at $286 that finishes in one day beats a 1.7t at $209 that takes two.
